Getting Familiar With HHC

The world of cannabis and THC products has seen a massive boom in recent years. Ever since the Farm Bill was passed in 2018, new brands and products have been sprouting up like wildfire. You can choose from delicious gummies, powerful vapes, and an assortment of HHC edibles.

This renewed popularity is ultimately a good thing because it means you have options. Unfortunately, every rose has its thorns and no good comes without a little bad. There have always been shady characters in the cannabis industry but lately, there are more bootleggers than anyone can keep up with.

One of the things that makes it so difficult to distinguish between bootleg products and brands you can trust, is that the bootleggers are pretty good at catching your eye with flashy packaging.

So, how do you tell the difference between premium HHC products and those that you should stay away from? The best way to avoid bootleg products is to have a solid understanding of what HHC is and what you should be looking for in a quality product.

Or, you can just buy TRĒ House products exclusively and never have to worry about getting subpar products. (we think that’s the best option)

What is HHC?

HHC stands for “Hexahydrocannabinol”. This is a semi-synthetic analog of THC. What does that mean? It means that HHC does not occur naturally in cannabis indica or cannabis sativa. Instead, a full-plant extract oil is created from either species of cannabis, then THC is isolated from the extract and further processed to create Hexahydrocannabinol.

Hexahydrocannabinol was first synthesized by a man named Roger Adams way back in 1944. Adams was obviously a ganja guru and enjoyed experimenting with different cannabinoids. One day, for whatever reason, he decided it would be a good idea to add a couple of hydrogen molecules to THC. The hydrogen molecules formed a double-bond to the THC molecule, and HHC was born!

Does HHC Get You Ripped?

It most certainly does! When you consume HHC, it interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system and elicits some pretty amazing psychotropic effects. This compound is sometimes used in conjunction with Delta-8 THC and Delta-9 THC, but it also gets the job done impressively well all by itself.

Whether you use HHC in combination with other cannabinoids or choose to indulge in something like our High-Potency HHC Cookie, you are going to get blasted like never before. Just make sure to take a small amount when you’re getting started or things might get weirder than you want them to!

The laws surrounding cannabis and THC products have become far more lenient in recent years. If you’re in a state like California, you likely won’t have any problems. That being said, it is your responsibility to figure out whether or not HHC is legal in your home state.

Even though this compound is a semi-synthetic form of THC, it still has its own regulations. Looking up the legality of THC simply won’t be enough. When you’re doing your research, make sure that you are looking up the laws regarding HHC specifically.

Don’t end up in the slammer.

Take 10 minutes to educate yourself and avoid any of the potential legal BS.

Semi-Synthetic Cannabinoids vs Naturally Occurring Cannabinoids

There are 113 naturally occurring cannabinoids that we know about so far and HHC is not one of them. Cannabinoids are produced in both cannabis sativa and cannabis indica. These compounds each interact with your body in their own way and offer a completely unique experience. Some cannabinoids are psychoactive and used for recreational purposes. Some cannabinoids are 100% non-intoxicating and are primarily used for wellness purposes.

Semi-synthetic cannabinoids are made from naturally occurring cannabinoids. They can be made from both psychoactive and non-psychoactive cannabinoids, but it is extremely rare that you hear about an endeavor to create a semi-synthetic cannabinoid that is not for recreational purposes.

THC-O Acetate is another fantastic example of a psychoactive semi-synthetic cannabinoid. This compound is also made from THC but requires a different manufacturing process. It also provides a completely different experience than HHC does.

Because everyone reacts differently to THC products, we can’t say with 100% certainty how you will experience these compounds differently. The only way to know for sure is to give them a try!
